LIONEL JOSEPH RITCHOT Peacefully, on Saturday, March 18, 2000 at the Deer Lodge Centre, Lionel Ritchot, beloved husband of Angie, passed away at the age of 77 years. Joe was born in Fort Garry, Man., February 19, 1923. He served overseas during the Second World War and was with the Canadian Army at the invasion of Normandy. After the war he was employed for 30 years as a brick layer at Jack Iverson Ltd. He was a nature and music lover and was a member of the Wildlife Federation. Joe was a longtime member of the Fort Garry Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #90 and was a Director of the I.W.V.A. Joe leaves to mourn his beloved wife Angie; daughter Sharon Unger and husband Art; granddaughter Angela; one surviving sister Marge Rathwell, as well as several nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. He was predeceased by two sisters and one brother. Special thanks to the staff at the Deer Lodge Centre for all their care and kindness. Donations in Joes memory may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, Man., R3A 1P6. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 24 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Luxton Avenue with Padre Stan Miller officiating.
